Any Improvement Is Better Than No Improvement

YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO A COMPLETE REMODEL of your home to make significant improvements. Right now, many people don’t have the resources to make big changes to their homes. But if you realize that any improvement ― be it cleaning out a drawer, replacing a bathroom light fixture or using your fine china ― is still an improvement, you’ll soon discover it’s the little things that make the most impact.

If you take these three small steps towards your home-improvement goals, you will be well on your way to a prettier, more organized and well-functioning home.
- Clean out your junk drawer. Often we think we need to make big changes to make improvements. Not true. Your junk drawer is usually a good indication if things have gotten out of control. Everything in that drawer should have its own place. When you’re done, you’ll feel so much better knowing where those odd items are.
- Tackle your kitchen. It’s the heart of every home, and it will take some time. Clean it, top to bottom. Go through your cupboards and drawers, remove unused items, and donate them. Put your prettiest dishes, silver and glassware where you can easily get to them ― and use them. Why not? What are you waiting for?
- Re-do your smallest room first. Clean it up, clear it out, paint it a pretty, fresh color and rearrange the furniture. It makes a big improvement and it’s cheap entertainment!
Above all, have some fun, let your family help and remember, the best houses evolve over time.
